Life in Kop Chiatt

The top photo is Chris in his Vietnamese hat with Porn, the other end of the table, outside Porn's family home. We have just arrived hence all the bags. The middle photo is Guy (left) Porn's sister and her friend Nat enjoying my ipod and being totally corrupted by western music. The last picture is Guy weaving scarves - she does 50 per month and gets paid around 55 pound.

Bus to Kop Chiatt

This is the bus from Luang Prabang to Kop Chiatt. It is small, very uncomfortable and is absolutely packed, no room to move, bumpy road and the hard bench we sat on is only around 12 inches deep - no good for large western bottoms. The views are stunning though.

On Our Way to Kop Chiatt

This is Chris from America (top) and Paul the alcoholic meeting to get the bus to Kop Chiatt - see previous text. It is around 9.30am and Paul is into his 3rd beer already.

Get it Right

This is a cast of the Buddha's foot in the temple overlooking Luang Prabang, Laos. For those of you observant enough - spot the deliberate mistake - see foot.

On the Mekong

Typical riverside villages - see how dirty the river is. Locals wash themselves and their clothes in this river.

Good Guys from Scotland

This is Neil at the top and Grant below. Neil is a nurse and Grant is a silver sculptor. They live in Edinburgh and are great company.
Picture taken on the slow boat.

Slow Boat to Laos

The picture top is from Chiang Chong looking across the Mekong River to Laos. The picture in the middle is from Pak Ben looking back down the Mekong the way we had come. The picture on the left is of the slow boat - see how packed it is. The lad on the left is an Arsenal fan.
